THE UAT.GYURZA-02, DEVELOPED BY THE DESIGN AND ENGINEERING DIVISION OF UKR ARMO TECH, IS PART OF A NEW FAMILY OF WHEELED ARMORED FIGHTING VEHICLES.
The vehicle offers high dynamic performance, enhanced off-road capability, smooth handling, and the ability to cover long distances at high average speeds.
One of its key advantages is the custom-built chassis, manufactured in-house by UKR ARMO TECH.

DESIGN SOLUTIONS

The GYURZA-02 is built on a chassis specifically engineered for an armored fighting vehicle.

To enhance its off-road capability and maneuverability under challenging conditions—while accounting for the weight of the armored capsule—the vehicle is equipped with an independent double-wishbone suspension, drive system, central tire inflation, and other specially engineered chassis components.

The GYURZA-02 is equipped with an electronically controlled diesel engine, an automatic transmission, pneumatic high- and low-range transfer unit control, and a dual-circuit pneumatic braking system.

Mobility in demanding conditions is ensured by a high-performance 6-cylinder Cummins diesel engine, known for its low noise levels and long service life (over 350,000 miles).
The reinforced chassis supports the reliable operation of this 16-ton armored vehicle across various terrains, enabling it to tackle steep inclines and minimizing the risk of rollover. Vehicle handling remains smooth and responsive during sharp maneuvers.

The GYURZA-02 can operate freely in dense urban environments and is suitable for all types of roads and off-road conditions in temperate climates. Its operating temperature range spans from -40°C to +50°C.

SAFETY AND SECURITY

MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected) vehicles are essential for frontline troop transport, offering enhanced ballistic protection in accordance with STANAG 4569 Level 2. While MRAPs represent one of today’s best protective solutions, UKR ARMO TECH continuously improves its vehicles to address evolving threats — with a focus on anti-drone and mine resistance.

The armored vehicles of UKR ARMO TECH — particularly the GYURZA-02 — feature a V-shaped lower body designed to dissipate blast energy, as well as specialized seats that absorb shock from explosive impacts. These mine-resistant seats are equipped with five-point harnesses and have been tested in accordance with NATO AEP STANAG 4569 standards.
The interior of each armored capsule is also lined with anti-shrapnel material, providing protection for both personnel and onboard equipment against free-form fragments weighing 1.1 grams and traveling at speeds of up to 500 m/s.

The widespread use of FPV drones and the rapid development of their destructive capabilities demand strategic engineering solutions to minimize vehicle vulnerability. To counter these threats, UKR ARMO TECH vehicles are equipped with integrated electronic warfare (EW) systems operating in the 150–1030 MHz frequency range — included as standard equipment.
In addition, anti-cumulative steel mesh screens are mounted at a distance from the main armor to enhance protection without compromising the vehicle’s performance or ease of use.

UKR ARMO TECH also partners with leading Ukrainian tech firms to offer clients a range of optional advanced defense systems.

For instance, the GYURZA-02 can be equipped with the FlyOff system — a combined hardware and software solution designed to detect FPV-type drone threats. It performs radio signal monitoring, determines the direction of hostile sources, records detection data in real time, displays threats on a digital map, and integrates with various types of electronic warfare systems.

ARMAMENT:

The GYURZA-02 is equipped with a remote-controlled weapon station (automatic unmanned combat turret) developed by UKR ARMO TECH in partnership with Scientific Production Association Ukrainian Defense Technologies.Tactical and technical specifications:

  • Height – 850 mm, Length – 1700 mm, Width – 1225 mm;
  • Weight: 370 kg (450 kg with weapons and fire control system)
  • Aiming accuracy: <0.5 mrad;
  • Auto target acquisition;
  • Optoelectronic module: day and night vision, laser rangefinder;
  • Fire control computer with advanced functions;
  • Firing capability while moving — both stationary and moving ground/air targets;
  • Armor protection: STANAG 4569 Level 1

Primary armament: M2 Browning 12.7 mm machine gun with 300-round ammunition.

ERGONOMICS:

The GYURZA-02 is designed to separate the crew and troop compartment from the engine, transmission, and fuel tanks, ensuring greater survivability.

The layout follows a proven configuration: engine in front, crew in the center, and troops in the rear.

  • Each seat has individual holders for weapons and ammunition.
  • The seats are designed to save lives during mine detonation.
  • Equipped with noise and thermal insulation, ventilation, heating, and air conditioning.
  • The control compartment includes seats for the driver and commander.
  • Troop loading/unloading is done via 5 armored doors.
  • All doors have bulletproof windows; rear doors include firing ports with protective flaps.
  • Special door mechanisms are easy to operate and ensure reliable operation of armored doors weighing more than 300 kg.
  • The crew compartment is designed for extended missions, offering a spacious layout and comfortable headroom.

Two roof hatches are provided for emergency evacuation in case of vehicle damage.

Ballistic glass:

Ballistic glass is a critical safety feature, offering protection at a level no lower than that of the vehicle’s armored hull.

  • It maintains high visibility, which is essential during ambushes or while on patrol.
  • We use certified bulletproof glass with protection L2/L3, multilayer, made of pressed plates of shatterproof glass and a transparent polymer adhesive film, which are integrated into a monolith.
  • An additional inner protective film prevents glass fragments from entering the cabin.
  • The vehicle features disc brakes and a dual-circuit pneumatic brake system.

The car is also equipped with anti-shatter, protected rear view mirrors.

The vehicle’s standard equipment includes communication and navigation systems, as well as night-driving assistance tools such as infrared sensors and a dedicated camera. High-quality 360° terrain scanning is provided by four cameras: daytime visuals are shown on the screen between the commander and the driver, while nighttime surveillance is displayed directly in front of the driver.
A blackout mode is enabled by a single button and deactivates all interior and exterior lighting. In this mode, only the night vision system remains active, with illumination provided by special blackout-compatible headlights.

The vehicle’s armor is made from high-grade alloy ballistic steel of foreign origin, which combines exceptional hardness with high strength and ductility. It ensures all-around protection for the crew, personnel, and internal components in accordance with NATO AEP-55 STANAG 4569, Levels 2 and 3.

All armor materials undergo testing in a certified laboratory of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense, in compliance with the national standard "Protection of Armor of Specialized Vehicles: General Technical Requirements."
UKR ARMO TECH armored vehicles are officially registered under NATO Stock Numbers (NSNs), confirming their compliance with international standards for special-purpose military products. These vehicles are used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other defense units, and are eligible for export.
The GYURZA-02 is equipped with an upgraded, fully autonomous fire extinguishing system for individual components.The automatic system includes dedicated detectors. While most tactical vehicle manufacturers typically install fire suppression only in the engine and troop compartments, UKR ARMO TECH also provides protection for the wheel arches, recognizing this as a critical factor in overall vehicle survivability.

To ensure the armored vehicle remains mobile and does not become a static target during combat, GYURZA-02 vehicles are equipped with custom-developed fire suppression systems that activate independently for each wheel in case of fire.
The multi-zone external protection system limits the impact of explosives and incendiary ammunition on the tires, which significantly increases the crew survival in conditions of comprehensive fire damage.

A modern filtration and ventilation system protects personnel from hazardous chemicals frequently used by the enemy.
It operates reliably even in environments where the air is contaminated or unbreathable.
