THE DEVELOPMENT OF MODERN WEAPONRY DEMANDS ENHANCED SURVIVABILITY OF ARMORED VEHICLES, INCLUDING STRONGER ANTI-DRONE AND ANTI-MINE PROTECTION

One of the most effective technological solutions in this area is the MRAP.
MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected) vehicles are a class of armored transports that have become essential for moving personnel along the front lines.

Body Car Armor

MRAP hulls are made of high quality foreign steel. This ensures increased ballistic protection of the PZSA-5 (STANAG 4569, level 2) - it can withstand 7.62x39 mm caliber shots with a BZ bullet in all projections at a distance of 10 meters and fragments from 155 mm field artillery shells at a distance of 25 meters.
Additionally, the armored capsules of our vehicles are covered with anti-shrapnel baffles on the inside, which protects the crew and internal equipment from free-forming fragments weighing 1.1 g at a speed of 500 m/s.

Mine protection

MRAP vehicles by UKR ARMO TECH have a V-shaped lower body to dissipate blast energy and special seats with shock absorption against explosive loads.

They also provide reliable protection against the blast effects of explosive devices and mines with up to 6 kg of TNT under the wheels or the vehicle's underbody.

Armored glass

MRAPs offer enhanced visibility from the cabin, which is crucial for surveillance operations.
The bulletproof glass provides a level of protection that is not lower than that of the corresponding armored body panels.

FPV protection

The widespread use of FPV drones has demonstrated the need for additional steel shielding to enhance the survivability of armored vehicles. These include anti-drone and anti-stimulus grids mounted at a distance from the main armor.
On our vehicles, fixed mounts for protective screens are strategically positioned to avoid interfering with core equipment functions or complicating vehicle operation.
To counter enemy FPV drones, all of our vehicles come equipped with onboard electronic warfare (EW) systems as standard.
To stay ahead of constantly evolving threats, UKR ARMO TECH specialists update and fine-tune the design and configuration of EW systems on a near-monthly basis.

Round-the-clock surveillance

We actively use 24/7 surveillance systems mounted on the roof of our vehicles.
The information is displayed on the screen in front of the driver (night surveillance) and between the commander and the driver (daytime surveillance).
This setup ensures full situational awareness directly from the driver’s and commander’s seats.
Light masking is enabled by special blackout headlights. When the blackout mode is activated with a single button, all interior and exterior lighting is switched off — only the night vision monitor remains operational.

Multi-zone fire protection

Typically, tactical wheeled vehicle manufacturers install fire extinguishing systems only in the engine and cargo compartments.
In contrast, wheel arch fire protection is a critical requirement for the survivability of UKR ARMO TECH armored vehicles.
During combat, even with minor hull damage and a running engine, tires often catch fire. As a result, an otherwise functional vehicle can lose mobility and become a static target on the battlefield.

UKR ARMO TECH armored vehicles are already undergoing testing with proprietary fire protection systems that activate individually for each wheel in the event of fire.
The multi-zone external protection system limits the impact of explosives and incendiary ammunition on the tires, significantly increasing crew survivability under conditions of extensive fire damage.

Off-road capability

During production, our MRAPs undergo a comprehensive chassis upgrade, with complete replacement of the main suspension components.
To enhance handling, an additional steering damper is installed, providing smoother and more controlled steering during sharp maneuvers.

Armored inserts are welded onto the axle housings — the key support structures of the axles — to prevent deformation of the axle sleeves under extreme driving conditions, such as after hard landings.

Additional shock absorbers are mounted, and reinforced springs with extra leaves are used to strengthen the suspension and increase resistance to deflection.

Thanks to this full-scale chassis modernization by UKR ARMO TECH, our MRAPs can confidently tackle steep inclines while minimizing the risk of rollover in off-road environments.

run-flat wheels

Our vehicles are equipped with run-flat tires, ensuring continued mobility even after damage.

To support this, a semi-automatic tire inflation system restores pressure in case of significant damage to the rubber, helping maintain movement and crew safety.

Innovations in production

Maximum protection and market competitiveness are achieved through advanced technologies and optimized production processes: laser cutting of armor steel, high-quality welding, smart modernization of key components and systems, enhanced protection, comprehensive testing, and strict quality control at every stage of production.

In a short time, UKR ARMO TECH has become one of the leaders in the Ukrainian armored vehicle market, thanks to bold ideas and their high-quality execution.

Mobile service technologies

Operating equipment in challenging wartime conditions requires timely repair and restoration.

To address this need, we have developed specialized service vehicles that promptly deliver repair teams to damaged armored vehicles, fully equipped for autonomous operation. These mobile workshops can provide emergency assistance on site or tow the damaged vehicle to a more suitable location for repair.
